This post is sponsored by ShelfGenie; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
My pantry is finally Pinterest perfect and I did it with the help of ShelfGenie Glide-Around™ Solutions. I will say at first I was skeptical that my tiny builder’s grade wire shelf pantry could be made functional. Grab a snack and get ready for some small pantry organization. Its magical and I am in love.
I have tried bins and baskets but then you can’t see anything. The pantry became a dumping ground for random DIY supplies and very little food. In preparation for the pantry makeover, I channeled my inner Marie Kondi and cleaned out my pantry. No, I didn’t follow the KonMari method as outlined by her book. I pretty much did my own thing. I dumped everything in the trash.
Then came ShelfGenie. I finally conquered my small and dark pantry.
Small Pantry Organization
ShelfGenie made it so much better. Good news I don’t have to move to get a bigger pantry. Honestly, now that I have everything organized and clean I don’t need a bigger pantry.
Let’s talk about the process which was so simple. Its really just 3 steps and very simple.
- I went online and booked a consultation appoint with a designer. He came to my home at the scheduled time we both agreed on. In his rolling bag, he had samples, materials and lots of pictures. It was so simple to solution my space. I picked the material and layout within an hour. He wrote up my order and I signed the agreement. The price is locked in without any measuring from the installer. Which is a bonus! No surprise costs.
- The installer called me and we scheduled time from him to measure the space. The measuring was done in 15 mins. This timing will vary based on the size of the pantry.
- Finally, my Shelf-Genie pantry came in. The installer called and I scheduled the install. He spent a couple of hours installing. He took down my old wire shelves and patched all the holes. Now I have this beautiful pantry that I can use.
Now let me break down my small pantry organization.
The Details
The very top shelf that does not slide out its where I keep bulk items and grill items. I also asked for my bottom floor to be left open to accommodate bulky items like the two bags of charcoal.
Snacks. Yes, I have snacks and cereal and the second shelf is where they live. Storage containers are for easy access for items such as chips and cookies. The cereal boxes are in the back.
As you can see the pantry shelves are not equal distances apart. This shelf where I store freezer bags, packets of seasoning, drink mixes and spaghetti. Since I used some bins on this shelf. I can play Tetris and rearrange as my storage needs change.
Turntables, purple canisters, and palm leaf jars are all some of my favorite things. This shelf might be the prettiest and my favorite. I have dry goods, condiments, and oils for now.
Can goods and pickled things. They are evaluated by two-tiered shelf units. They are perfect for can good rotation and not collecting expired goods.
No more bottled water on the floor falling over. This is my beverage shelf with bottled and sparkling water. I prefer room temperature water and this is going to keep me hydrated all summer.
Bonus Spice Rack Hack
Also, I did what I call a bonus space. My husband and I combine our love of coffee with our daily medications. The cabinet was a hot mess. Some days I would stick bottles inside of mugs.
I call this solution a ShelfGenie hack because I believe its technically a spice rack system. I use it as his and her medicine cabinet.
