I’ve wanted to share with the world my journey to beautiful skin. I never had chronic acne problems. The occasional hormonal breakout but nothing that made me want to seek out acne treatments. My skin changed when I entered my late 20’s. It became a game changer. I honestly never wore makeup daily until then.
It wasn’t until I had an embarrassing moment with a random sales guy at the mall. He was trying to sale me some random skincare junk. I was dead serious no I’m not buying your minerals from the Dead Sea. Then the icing on the cake was he mentioned women who looked nothing like me. I responded with well you ain’t mention nobody black. He then said wow do you have a fungus on your forehead. I walked away quietly because I knew I had some problem areas that looked like dry skin, but was much more than just a patch or so. It was awful, but I didn’t need the random guy at the random skin care kiosk at the mall to call me out. He hit me right in the heart.
I went to dermatologist and was diagnose with seborrhea dermatitis. She gave me a number of steroid creams that cleared up my dry patches and returned my skin to normal. I would find myself battling this problem for years on and off and never really dealing with flare-ups unless I became annoyed.
However, today is a new day. I’ve decided to take this skincare serious and find products that work for me. Thus, I sought out information on the Clinque 3 Step Skin Care System. There are so many expects and skincare lines out there. It’s hard sometimes to find one thing that works and doesn’t cost more than your weekly salary. I’ve been down that road before and it’s pretty skin. But really does my face wash have to be $40 bucks just for me to wash it down the drain? Ain’t nobody got time for that.
When I started the search for a new skin care routine, I had a few goals…
1) The skincare line had to meet all my needs. One product line for every need.
2) The skincare essentials would last a while.
3) It would be a simple and easy routine.
I’ve also added 2 additional skin steps that I don’t do every day. The essence water and serum are for days when I need something extra to balance my skin. And for now the serum is acting as my toner.
