I’m a southern girl who loves to cook a good home style meal. Although, I have my favorite go to meals sometimes I like to be creative to just try out a new flavor or switch things up a bit. There is nothing like creating a new recipe to make dinner or lunch seem special. I especially enjoyed creating this RAGU recipe using the new Homestyle Thick and Hearty Four Cheese Sauce . I can tell you there is nothing like homemade biscuits, lemonade, sweet tea and pies. Although, pasta is not a traditional southern dish I can say this sauce is probably the best thing to use besides making your own. It’s thick and rich and full of flavor and which means that I don’t have to worry about balancing the flavors out myself. I believe that home style can be achieved using prepared items such as the RAGU recipe. It’s all in the presentation and how you pare it with other side dishes.
You, would think that a girl like me who is an original Georgia Peach born and raised studied with the best Italian chef. You could not tell me that I didn’t create this RAGU recipe with homemade sauce. Homestyle in my opinion is the ability to please a coward so that its constantly requested for potlucks and family gatherings. Homestyle is the dish that people wait for or save room to eat last because you know it’s good. In my family there are a couple of family favorites that we must have for it to feel like a real family gathering. It has to taste good, be made of simple ingredients, easy to prepare and feed lots of people. So with that in mind I created a new recipe using RAGU Thick & Hearty Four Cheese Homestyle Pasta Sauce using some fresh zucchini, bell pepper and trottole pasta. Together these fresh ingredients make a RAGU recipe that is worthy of any family gathering big or small. Feel free to check out the rich history of Ragu here.

I am not usually a big fan of Ragu sauces (I find them too sweet), but this recipe does look really good, and that new homestyle sauce sounds good too! At the very least I think I need to try the recipe with my own preferred sauce!
I typically make my own or something really cheap like Hunts in the can. But this sauce is pretty good!
It sounds pretty good – I may have to try it 🙂
Love this summery pasta dish!
My City Spouse loves Ragu… so much that this year I am attempting to alter my homemade spaghetti sauce (canning) to taste more like it. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe to the Monday Mish Mash Link Party!
