I have a very small linen closet that I wasn’t using. I had decided that I could live without ever needing a closet to store anything. I always kept my extra bedding in the room. The towels and wash clothes were stored in the bathroom on a shelf. I tried to keep any overstock of cleaning products and hair supplies to a minimum.
I did this because I hated the small closet in the hallway. It was a dark hole that I didn’t want to become a junk filled space of sheets and towels I never used. So I partnered with The Container Store and now I am in love.
I have a system that my husband can even use. He is a very neat person, but a system must be in place or things just go wild. I like that I have cloth baskets that I can use to group like items. I like to keep one set of sheets and bedding for each room.
Small Linen Closet
I have some extra blankets and duvets for seasonal updates but no more than that at any given time. I like three things white in my life, sheets, towels, and curtains. I like the idea that I can bleach things white. I don’t really like any colors other than white.
I used the baskets to gather all my hair supplies and now I have a place to store extra items. I try not to be a beauty junkie and allocating just one shelf and basket for hair supplies keeps me honest.
I also enjoyed moving my overstock of cleaning supplies into a basket. Before I would keep them in the bathroom in a basket. Now I can just unload my items in the linen closet and keep better stock on what I may need. ]
The large baskets at the top are my favorite. It’s a lot of space at top that I wanted to use for large duvets and blankets. Now I can feel comfortable with storing items up high without them falling on the floor every time I open the door.
