I taught myself how to make peach cobbler one long and hot summer. I wanted to cook, and we had fresh peaches. My sister had some southern living cookbooks. I didn’t find a peach cobbler, but there were similar pies. I came up with this recipe by mixing sugar cookies and dumplings together. This is how I learned to make this easy peach cobbler. I’m sure through the years I have adjusted and used a little more flour, less sugar or lemon juice depending on what’s in the pantry.
I’ve put together a one minute video on how I make this easy peach cobbler.
Check it out and let me know if you think its easy!
I believe that if you can make sugar cookies then can you make this dish work for you. I’m no pastry chef, but rather a country girl who considers herself a kitchen cook. I can make something with all the basic groups. Like if you gave me chicken dark, white or whole I can pretty much make something happen.
I love peach cobbler it’s by far my favorite thing to eat during the holiday season and summer. I’m from Georgia and while I’m not sure when peaches are in season. You can always find a can of peaches at the grocery store. My favorite thing is using canned peaches from someone’s garden. So this is how I manage to make a peach cobbler in early fall. It goes right along with my seasonal need to make warm and hearty meals.
Nothing like this easy peach cobbler and some vanilla bean ice cream to make movie watching so much better. I use self-rising flour, a can of peaches, butter, and whatever flavoring I can find in the spice cabinet.
