Cactus flower pot gardens are all over Pinterest, Instagram and Tumblr. I love how they are easy to put together with the right tools. Ever wonder how to transplant a cactus? Well, I didn’t know the secret was grab a pair of tongues from the kitchen. Maybe not the actual tongues you use for everyday meals, but get you some with the silicon on the end. I find them to be the best tool for the job along with a hard bamboo stick or spoon to press down as you transplant the cactus.
Also I like the little mini cacti and some of the larger varieties as well. I have yet to find the courage to buy a bigger plant. I’m honestly afraid I might fall on it because I’m not the most graceful chick. I’ve yet to kill a cactus and I think I’m doing somethings right. Today, I want to share with you my steps in putting together this little cactus flower pot garden.
Spoiler alert most of the flowers you see in local department stores are fake. Yes, they glue on flowers. I know heartbreaking! I’m the type of plant lover who likes things to be pretty from the start. I don’t mind that the flowers are fake because from my research it could take a while for an actual bloom to appear if at all.
Cactus flower pot garden!

Instructions:
- Add enough soil to raise cactus to surface of flower pot.
- Make a hole for the cactus.
- Grabbed the base of the cactus from the bottom with tongues. Then hold nursery pot in place and pull gently.
- Then place the cactus in flower pot. Fill with extra soil as you press down with tongues or a metal spoon.

They are beautiful although not my favourite plants! Do you mean that they stick a fake flower on a real plant? Thank you for sharing!

Yes and no. I think they are real fake flowers. I heard that you need to take them off eventually.
I love flower, a good post
Thanks for stopping by!
I’m moving into my an apartment this coming school year with a roomie, and I was thinking we could get some greenery to spruce up the place! I think I’ll probably start off with little succulents and cacti before I venture onto something bigger and more high maintenance 😛 Thanks for the tips! Especially loving the dude on the far left 🙂 -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
